Do your high resolution DVD’s come with full rights to print?
Yes, you are free to print, reproduce, and share all of the images on your DVD.  Of course, I encourage you to consider ordering prints through me as I work with one of the premier labs in the country and there truly is a difference in quality.  I deliberately price my prints so that purchasing the best can be an affordable option for you.

What type of albums and other products do you offer?
Robert Wayne Photography is a full-service studio and offers a range of albums as well as other products
and services.  My preferred provider of albums is Zookbinders; they produce some of the most desirable and sought-after albums anywhere.  These heirloom quality albums are typically offered only by those photographers who serve the most discriminating clients but you will find that I price them so that they are very affordable.

Coffee-table books (also by Zookbinders), gallery wraps, prints on canvas, photo boxes, thank you cards and more are also available.

Do you limit the number of pictures we can have in our album or the design changes we are able to make?
Candidly, I’m always a little surprised to hear that some photographers limit the number of images you can include in your album.  Or that there are only a preset number of pages available.  Or even limit your design choices.  It's YOUR album and I place NO such limitations.  Your album can have any number of pages from 24 all the way up to 90.  The design possibilties are endless and there is absolutely NO limit to the number of images you can include in your album.

Can I customize my package?
Robert Wayne Photography doesn't offer "packages", everything is available al a carte.  Build a package from the ground up; one that is uniquely perfect for you and your budget.  Invest in what you want, don't buy what you don't need.  Additionally, this approach affords you the freedom to make your selections AFTER your wedding once you've actually seen your images!

What is the Wedding Wire Bride's Choice 2012 Award About?
I'll let the good folks over at Wedding Wire explain it for me; the following is the text from their congratulatory letter I received:  "We are excited to announce Robert Wayne Photography has won the Bride's Choice Awards™ 2012. This prestigious award is determined by reviews from your past clients and recognizes the top 5 percent of local Wedding Professionals from the WeddingWire Network."

How much are your prints and enlargements?
Many couples never think to ask this question until after their wedding and are surprised to find that their photographer charges $40 or more for an 8x10.  I work with one of the best labs in the country and specify only archive grade photographic paper but price my prints very affordably.  For instance, my 8x10's are only $8.99.

Do you charge for additional hours?  What do you mean by “full day”?
Some photographers charge by the hour; the offer 4, 6, 8, 10 hour packages, etc.  My coverage is based upon the not on what the clock says, but on the events of your day.  A “Full Day” starts at the bride’s dressing location up to 2 hours prior to leaving for the ceremony and I stay with you until your reception begins to wind down.  Typically, this runs 8-9 hours and is more than enough to cover nearly all weddings.

Do you charge for travel?
My studio is located in Franklin, NJ  (07416) which is in northwestern NJ.  Travel within a one hour radius is included in my price.  Generally, this covers much of New Jersey north of Route 78 and even a large portion of Rockland and Orange Counties.  Of course, I often photograph weddings far beyond this radius.  If you are planning a wedding that is more distant, please contact me so we may discuss the details.

What is your payment schedule?
A $500 retainer is required at the time of contract execution; this is what guarantees your date on my calendar.  No other payments are required until two weeks prior to your wedding at which time the remaining balance will be due, but remember, that is only for the base fee; albums and other products are neither purchased nor paid for until AFTER your wedding.

Do you work with a second photographer?
A second photographer allows me to more fully cover your day and adding one is just one of the many options you may consider when building your package.

Do you offer gift certificates?
Yes.  Robert Wayne Photography gift certificates are a wonderful way for friends and family to contribute to the purchase of your wedding album or that one special print that will be prominently displayed in your home for a lifetime.  Can you imagine a more personal gift?  Please e-mail me for information or to order a gift certificate.

Do you quote special prices if I only need you for two or three hours?
Yes, special prices are offered for events that are only a couple of hours.  There are a number of variables that I will need to consider when preparing a custom quote so please contact me with the details.

Do you offer engagement photo sessions?
Yes.  An engagement portraits session is one of the many options you may add to your package.  If you book your session as a part of your wedding package, my regular portrait session fee is discounted to only $299 .  This is for a one hour session within a 45 minute radius of my office.  Your images will be available in an on-line gallery from which you may either order prints or download the original high-resolution images.  You can view a small sample from a recent engagement session HERE.

How many pictures will you take of our wedding?
It varies greatly and is based on the nature of your day.  Typically, you will receive more than 500 images; sometimes a lot more.  My goal is not to hit a number; it's simply to tell the story of your day in pictures.

Who will be our photographer?
There are some “wedding photography factories” that hire freelance photographers.  In all likelihood, when you speak with one of these companies, you will be meeting not with a photographer but a sales person.  Indeed, you may not even meet your actual photographer in advance or see samples of their personal work.  When you work with Robert Wayne Photography, you can be assured that:
  -  I will be your photographer
  -  All images you see in my portfolio are my own
  -  I will come to your day with a tailored plan based on our discussions around the type of photography that appeals to you.

Can we see images of a full wedding that you’ve photographed?
Yes, you may view a number of my full weddings HERE.  It’s important to see full weddings to get a true sense of a photographer’s quality and style.  Anyone can pluck out a few nice samples from a wedding or two and call it a portfolio.  What you want to see, though, is consistency; an ability to produce quality photographs throughout the day.  In total, I make more 1,000 images available for you to view directly on this site!

Do you touch-up your images?  Do you offer black and white or special effects?  Do you use Photoshop?
All of your images will be post-processed in PhotoShop.  Most images will receive basic adjustments.  At my discretion, a select number of images will also undergo additional processing such as B&W or sepia conversion, soft focus, vignetting, selective color, and other such effects.

In what style of photography do you specialize, traditional or photojournalistic?
This is a large and complex topic around which there is considerable misunderstanding.  The terms traditional and journalistic do not refer to a photographic style, they describe a method of work.  As you look through my image gallery and think about my “style”, I would hope words such as intimate and romantic come to mind;  that’s my style.  My method of work can best be described as a blending of the best elements of both journalistic and traditional photography.  During our initial consultation, I will take us past labels like these and get down to what’s really important: understanding the types of images that appeal to you, the look that you’re hoping to achieve, and how you’d like to manage our interactions throughout your day.  Because I take a blended approach, it becomes a simple matter of adjusting my blend to meet your unique needs.

Are you insured?
Yes, Robert Wayne Photography carries a policy that will satisfy the requirements of any banquet hall with which you may be working.  A certificate of insurance will be provided to them upon request.

How long have you been a photographer?  When did you begin shooting weddings professionally?
I first discovered photography as a teenager and began shooting weddings professionally in 1987.  Of course, everything was shot with film back then so there was no such thing as fixing mistakes in Photoshop.  Even special effects had to be created in-camera.  It all had to be right the first time.  Additionally, cameras were much simpler back then: manual exposure, manual focus, manual everything.  Though today’s digital cameras are much more sophisticated, the skills I acquired through that experience remain indispensable to this day.

Why do you specialize in wedding photography?
I love the art of photography.  On days that I’m not shooting a wedding, I commonly grab one of my cameras and a few lenses and go on a long nature hike.  Or maybe to a race track or a sporting event.  You may view some of my personal work HERE.  I enjoy creating unique, artistic, and expressive images and can think of no better subject than a bride on her wedding day.  Without question, what I enjoy most about this work is  watching couples become emotional as they view their images for the first time.  Knowing that I’ve touched your hearts and created images that you will cherish for a lifetime makes this a wonderfully rewarding profession.  I truly view this work as my personal legacy.

Are you Robert Wayne?
It seems like a silly question, but initial inquiries are often addressed to Mr. Wayne which is not my name so I thought I would speak to it here in my FAQ's.  My name is Bob Ernst.  My last name is not easily remembered and often misspelled making it a poor choice for a web address.  Although most studios are named for the photographer, I’ve elected instead to name mine for my (now grown) twin sons, Robert and Wayne.

We’re interested; what are the next steps?
The first step is to complete the short form on my CONTACT page.  I will arrange for a brief phone discussion during which I can learn a little about the day you are planning and addres any quick questions you may have.  If you have continued interest, we can plan for an in-person consultation.  There is never any sales pressure or obligation.
